Hello everyone I am not sure if this is the correct area or not for this so if not please move it to the correct one. I am a member of my departments dive team and as such I have to keep the equipment up and running, my question is that the main boat and motor is a Jet drive Mercury Outboard. It is a newer motor In the last 5-6 years, not sure on the year as I was just put in the group lately. I am wanting to start it up and make sure it runs and will turn over before a emergency, however I am not sure if I can just hook the hose to the water attachment on the back of the motor and start it up or do I have to have it in the lake. One other thing is that on a Jet drive there is not a typical lower unit like on my force outboard is therE? Thank you guys for any advice.

Re: Jet drive motor

Not aware of any water hook up for a jet drive to be run out of water, with a hose.
I maybe wrong.
google jet drives. San Leandro, California. Good guys. they are the only ones that build them.
