Most PWCs are made a bit differently than your standard glass boat, it's SMC, which is used in a different type of fiberglass construction, it has glass plus other fillers in it, so it may look white all the way through. You also may not be able to bond to it as easily as normal fiberglass, people frequently use epoxy so they know the bond is good.

thanks O, I was hoping you were around , lol I was contemplating doing that but then I feared I would not be able to use poly after that I did think about cutting cross hatches in it and then drilling holes to allow the poly to come thru , either way I guess I could just epoxy sandwich the two pieces together then blend in with poly?

Could you get all the stringers and transom done poly before the jet ski gets installed ?
Then finish up with the epoxy ..

well that's what I was thinking as well now I just need to figure out what epoxy do I use ? I know the two pieces aren't a exact match so my idea was to make a bed then sit the ski part into that making the bedding conform to the two pieces....

I'm no expert....but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn

US Composites lists Epoxy that can have fillers added. I believe that some have used their products in the past and have had good results. No idea on shipping/cost/whatnot but it *may* be an option for you.

BTW: Nice project and if I may say so...good use of a jetski!

Just about any epoxy will work, and you won't need much, so buy a low cost product if you find one. Any of them can be thickened if needed.

This is kind of funny, but I travel a lot and I'm at the highest level of the frequent guest program you can get at the Holiday Inn chain of hotels (IHG) 2 -3 nights a week on average. I'll be on the road 5 of the next 6 weeks, with 2 weeks in Korea.

Small world, I was a swimming pool contractor at one time, mostly did major remodels and updates of existing pools, commercial and residential.

I also made the movable bulkheads for mounting the starting platforms and to adjust the lane lengths, traveled all over installing them.

I've been to too many of those "pool parties".

We're having a BBQ during the game on Saturday, you and the wife are invited. Could you show up a little early and look at the heater, pump, filter, plumbing, hot tub, sauna, (whatever fits) so we can use it that day. I show up with the work truck earlier than my wife, work on the pool for several hours, miss the game, use many of my parts at no charge, then get a cold burger and some left over potato salad, sorry no beer left.

Wasn't that a great BBQ, glad you and your wife could make it.

after giving this more thought and talking to others this jetski idea might not be so hot, folks talking about where i wanna fish is full of weeds and they cause problems with jetfoot so might just ax this project and get something like a bass boat to roll out in :)

Pumps don't like leaves or weeds. I run a jet boat most of the time.
