GL....have you checked the spark on the engine lately? Each spark should jump at least a 7/16" gap with a hot white spark. And what plugs are you running? I believe a QL77JC4 (Champion) is the recommended plug. Book says to gap them at .030 but you can get a better idle at .040.

Yeah....questions may be "left field". But....humor me.:))

What about the float levels in the carbs? If the floats are set to low ~~~ you know!
I do not know your engine, does it have four carbs? If so check the carb for the dry cylander.

hey guys, thanks for all the advise on the motor. it really helped a lot. seems that doing everything everybody told me was good for the engine but it turned out to be the battery and the throttle cable. bought me a switch and put in a second battery and started the motor up with both batteries and she turned over and i adjusted the throttle cables a lil bit more and it did the trick. and for cylender 1 not being moist. i still havent found out what going on with that. but she fires. i think this motors ready to retire. she's pretty much way past her prime so imma use her for a few more months and scrap it. cause i dont think i or anybody else should even put this much effort into trying to fix it. i guess i'll just use this boat at the lake and grady white for the gulf. i'll keep you guys posted on when imma scrap this motor. thanks a lot guys.

Well.....at least ya' got it to run. Thanks for lettin' us know what happened. These engines are good engines and can be made to run well with a little effort. If the compression is still good....it might be worth that little effort to get her going.
