Hmm, the battery is 1 yr old deep cycle marine, from autozone, do you think the recifirer is wasted again? will this harm anything on motor? at 14.90 volts can i use it for rest of season and fix or winter or should i repair now ? Thanks for any suggestions !!!!!!
Check for loose or corroded connections. What does the voltage read when engine is not running? Your not using the deep cycle battery as your starting battery?
14.9 is not a serious overcharge situation. It's on the high side of normal. You should not be using a deep cycle battery as a starting battery unless its rated "dual purpose" (marine starting/deep cycle) in whch case it does neither job as effectively as a marine start or regular deep cycle battery.
Thanks for reply the battery is 1 year old duralast marine battery 685 cca rated, all wires i check cannot find any problems, do you think it is safe to run this for season or should i pull flywheel and replace recifier, it is tha water cooled appox 2 yrs old?
