I know there are a lot of posts regarding this topic and I have read many of them but am still not clear on my specific situation. Your help will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have J115SLEDR 1996. Since I have owned it (approx 5 yrs) i have had bouts of over oiling and lack of fuel. I have replaced all fuel lines, clamps, siphon in tank, blown out tank, new filters, etc Sometimes the engine has run great, but more often than not lately its been leaking tons of goo out the exhaust and smoking horribly, not idling, stalling, just generally crappy. Its gotten to the point now that there is so much oil in the mixture that it will barely run.

I am not replacing the vro but getting rid of it and going to premix. I know the pros and cons. My questions are:

1. is the j115sledr a crossflow, a looper, a 60 or 90 degree? it seems the vro no oil replacement fuel pumps vary based on these things.
2. I am tossing the entire assembly(fuel is leaking from the top, its cracked now), not just the fuel and oil pump - this means getting rid of the little chamber with the float where the mixed oil and gas fill to feed the carbs as well as the electric prime. Can I just use a t fitting from the pump to the carbs? What about those little prime hoses - just plug them?
3. There are 2 pulse fittings on the engine, one is large and blue and the other is smaller and brass. Do i plug the small one and use the blue for the new fuel pump?
4. Is there a recommended replacement pump? there are a lot of versions available, some have 2 pumps for about $200 and say they fit all johnson vro replacements and some are single pump (cheaper) and limited to I think 70-135 hp versions.

Thanks again

60 deg looper. Your stillngonna neednthe rest of the fuel bracket components. Just replace the vro with the non oiling version. Someone will chime in with the part number.

Thanks. I understand that one way to do it is to reuse most of the fuel bracket components, but I really want to eliminate as much as I can. Is it not possible to run fuel pump direct to carbs through a "y" or "t" fitting rather than use the fuel bracket tank? I would think the floats in the carb bowls would do the trick instead of using this additional bowl and float... but having never done this I am not sure

That is not an additional float and bowl that houses the fuel pump Diaphragm . All that does is pull fuel from the tank and push it towards the carb no more. The floats in the carb do all the regulating
