Johnson 18 Crank Seal Replacement- Should We Be Doing This??

FR, Thanks for the detailed reply. Luckily, I did assemble it correctly. I used a new johnson gasket (and oring), but didn't use any sealant. Would you recomend that I take it apart again to apply sealant, or is it only needed if I didn't replace the gasket?

If you have the motor all assembled again, I would personally not take it apart again to seal the gasket, but that is me. If the powerhead is still off, I would pop the seal out and seal it.
