HI ALL JUST GOT MY FIRST BOAT, ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SORTED OUT IS THE ENGINE WIRING, THOUGHT I GIVE IT A GO MYSELF AND LEARN A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ENGINE. ANYWAY THE ENGINE IS A JOHNSON 35H.P SEA HORSE ELECTRIC START MODEL NUMBER 319700-4 I THINK. NOT SURE OF YEAR. IT HAS GOT THE MAIN(THICKER) BATTERY CABLES.I KNOW WHERE THESE GO!! BUT THERE ARE ANOTHER 6 SMALLER WIRES.
1)YELLOW / RED-STRIPE
2)BLACK / YELLOW-STRIPE
3)PURPLE / WHITE- SRIPE
4)RED
5)BLACK
WOULD BE REALLY GREATFUL IF SOME ONE COULD LET ME KNOW WHAT THESE WIRE ARE FOR AND WHERE THEY ARE TO BE CONECTED TO. CAN SEND PHOTOS IF IT WOULD MAKE THINGS CLEARER. THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Re: JOHNSON 35H.P

Welcome aboard Duke!

Usually posts like this go over in the John/Rude forum but since it's electrical in nature, maybe the Mods will let it set....anyway...

Yellow w/red stripe.....Goes to the "S" on the ignition switch, means start.

Black w/yellow stripe....Goes to one of the "M" terminals....it's the wire that stops the engine.

Purple w/white stripe...Goes to the "C" on the switch....it energizes the Choke solenoid.

Red....goes to the "B"....Battery

Black....goes to the other "M"...ground.

If there is a purple wire left over...that would go to the "I" on the switch....Ignition.

You should have an "A" left over on the switch....this is for Accesories.

Don't think that was the model number you posted. Look on the block for a large freeze plug. Should be two numbers on there. One will be the model number. Post it and we can tell you the year.
