Dealing with stuck and broken fasteners is part of working on an outboard. Heat from a propane torch, impact screwdrivers, penetrating oil, and above all - patience - is the way to get them out. If you have acess to a welder, you can weld a new nut to the top of the broken stud. The heat from the welding will surely break the fastener loose. <br />If not, and the fastener is broken off flush with the surface, drill out precisely the centre of the screw. Then work your way up in drill sizes until all that's left in the screwhole is the thread. If you're lucky and accurate, the old thread will come out like a spring. If that doesn't work, obtain and install a helicoil.<br />Good luck!
