Johnson 9.9 IDENTIFICATION

Need help to identify the model and year of this Johnson 9.9. tag is missing. it has worn I'm assuming it's the 70's model. low profile. short foot. silver plug on power head engine block h.as these numbers on it. J2473702. Carburetor has a number 60 on it Head plate cover B 06609. Any help you can give me would be appreciated I need that then if I order parts.

None of those numbers helps identify this motor. The number on the welch plug (silver plug on the top of the engine) is just the serial number. There should be a tag or plate on the side of the transom clamps that has the model and serial number.

Here's a few things to help narrow it down:

Is the motor painted green or white? If green, 76 and older. White, 77 and newer.

Where is the stop button? If it's on the front of the engine cowling it'll be a early 86 and older. If it's anywhere on the tiller handle, late 86 and newer.
