I'd like to ask for a bit of help on the debug procedure for a 9.9 Johnson with no spark. I'd like to tell you what year it is but the serial number/model tag is broken off and the engine has been painted in Camo. It is the model with a Sensor and Charge Coil under the flywheel.

1. Has a black rubber plug / connector between the Sensor/Charge Coil and the Power Pack
2. Has a rubber plug / connector between the Power Pack and the Coils
3. The shorting switch is disconnected (not a lanyard type)

The coils seem to have low resistance on the primary and high resistance (not open) on the secondary. Plug wires seem to have continuity. Neither one sparks.

Is there a test procedure for the Charge Coil, the Sensor and the Power Pack?

Thanks, Bill

You might try going to the CDI website and finding your engine. Use their troubleshooting section to help you troubleshoot your engine.
