Johnson 9.9 year Help??

I just picked this 9.9 Johnson up for free and I need help identifing the year. It looks to be a newer 2 stroke but I am not sure. The ID tag has all but been destroyed and is unreadabel. I need to order a prop for this outboard and I dont want to order on a wild guess as to the year. This outboard has the kill switch on the tiller handle if that helps at all.

I.m thinking it's a 90's model.

I'm thinking late 80's but still just a guess. Pull the lid and look at the top of the back part of the motor. There should be a little freeze plug looking disc (quarter size) with the model # stamped on it. Best of luck. Rick.

Take the broken prop with you and show it to Marina store they can match the size for you

my guess would range 74-84, if we could see the other side of the engine without the hood, we might be able to to see the coils and then determine a closer date. Here's a link to an ad for a 1977 johnson, your's is not too far off.

Looks exactly like my 1986. Sorry for the blurry pic. Prop is 9.5 X 10. Aluminum freeze plug on top of engine will have model #.

Edit: Didn't look close enough at the pics your cowl sticker is gray and mine is black. 1986 was the first year for cable throttle so it is newer than that.
