Hello,
I would like to know if a 1977-78 lower unit housing, part number 388097, will fit on a 1984 Johnson model J25RLCRD. Thank you.

I can tell you the old style 2 piece gear case was used prior to 1985 changed in 85.
Can't tell you if the 77-78 will fit your 84 leg.
