I have a Johnson 40 HP..the serial number is J4255187..can anyone tell me the model year, or provide a link that will? Thanks@

kyle need the modle number to identify on the same tag as ser#...

Ok, A.D. the model # is 40E75C. I THINK I've figured it out..its a 1975, right? Please confirm, but I guess if I had used just one brain cell, I could have guessed this! Thanks!

Ok, thanks guys...one more question. The motor (Johnson 40 HP just stopped in the middle of our last ride..when i tried to restart, gas just flowed out of the carburetor..stuck float? Do I get a carburetor kit, or just remove the carb and clean it?

Rebuild the carbs be sure to clean them good I f possible soak overnight
