Johnson Outboard Year?

Looking to buy an 18 horsepower Johnson outboard... Looks great and runs good but wondering the year and shaft length. Can't really tell haven't measured the shaft. This is the specs Serial # 204146, model 10-14..... Can anyone help me out on the year and shaft length?

If it's a FD-14, then it's a<br />FD-14 18HP 1960<br /><br />No record of a 10-14..<br /><br />Probably a short shaft. Although they did come in both. But short shaft was standard..15"<br /><br /> web page 1 Look like this?<br /><br /> web page

Long (20") shaft would be model FDL-14, so it is almost surely a short (15") shaft.<br /><br />Good engine, good luck.
