I just bought this motor from someone and I am trying to research a little about it. I can't find any images of a td20 that looks like this and it doesn't look like it has been reprinted. The sea horse logo is on the side with the tiller handle. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this color. I plan to run it on my 12' porta-bote and thought it would be fun to work on as a restoration in the winter.

Thank you. The model number is td 20. The prop is the same color as the tank. Where the paint is worn there is no sign of it having been repainted. Could it be the gas tank and prop are off another engine?

It looks like a repaint at one time, all the TD and TN models were shades of green. The JOHNSON decal looks like a newer style, too, but I could be wrong.

Very definitely repainted at one time in its life. With the exception of a few of the earliest TD and TS-models, they were all Sea Mist Green. The first year's worth were silver...

The decals used on your motor are more representative of the maroon era motors of 1957 and 1957, white with black outline.
