I need the spanner nut that goes on top of the trim main cylinder. Mine is bad and will not seal. It is bent somehow inside and the new seal will not work. It is a fast track unit for a 1993 Johnson 90hp outboard. Is this part available new? If so does anyone know where I can get one and the part number?

The part # should be 390006 and should be available at any BRP dealer.

Try the top secret files at the beginning of this forum and look for salvage yards.

You just need the spanner? I made one from two pieces of angle iron and 3 bolt/nuts. Find three bolts that just fit the holes in the PTT cover. Drill holes at each end of the two pieces of angle iron to fit the bolts. Bolt the two angle iron pieces together. Insert the two bolts in the open end of the angle iron, and install the nuts. If the bolts in the ends of the angle iron protrude 1/4" past the nuts, they should fit the holes in the PTT cover.

I think he is talking about the cap that goes on top of the tilt cylinder.

Try: Boat Recyclers of Wilmington. They have a lot of used outboard parts.
