Can anyone advise me regarding the various alarm sounds on the remote horn.

My engine sounds an intermittant beep when on low revs when it,s hot. What does it mean. The water coming out of he engine is not very hot, so I don,t think it,s overheating, but it,s a worry.

I,m also having trouble with the power trim. It,s not working most of the time.

I seem to have tracked it to the small black box which is attached to the engine. Inside there are two relay boxes which make a high pitched squeak from time to time when the trim does not work. I suspect either these are faulty or there is a corroded contact somewhere. Can anyone advise?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

You are not alone. I've heard this before.

My 1995 200 makes the same beeping at about 1300 rpm. Not at an idle, not at 1500. Does it just once in a while. I have a brand new VRO.
I think the pressure sensor is too sensitive.

Unless someone can come up with a better explanation, I'm going to ignore it.
But, I am also going to start running 100/1 premix in the tank, just incase something else starts malfunctioning.

Johnson < reliable

Does it do it in one direction or when raising it or lowering it? Normally the relays will not squeak. They may emit a low buzzing sound if they are weak ot the contacts are corroded. If it's worse in one direction, swap the relays and see if it gets better. As for the beeping, a beep every 1/2 second or so is the no oil warning for the VRO. Every 20 seconds is the low oil warning. A steady tone is the overheat warning. Could be sensor in oil tank going bad if it's intermittant. Run a 50:1 Mix in your fuel tank along with the VRO, until you find the problem. Better to be safe than sorry!
