Johnson versus Evinrude Parts numbers

I'm looking for a shift lever for a 1958 FD12 18hp Johnson. I found one for a 1958 Evinrude Fastwin 18hp.
I'm thinking that they should be interchangable, but I see they have different parts numbers.

Does anyone know if they used different parts numbers for like parts used between Johnson and Evinrude back then?

Different part numbers, different parts.

RockRinerene that shifter should work, I to have a johnson 1958 18ph I am working on and I am using the shifter off of a 68 Evenrude I have found that most of these motors are basically the same motor, if you want an original though try your local NAPA stor that is were I buy the parts for my 58 and 63 johnsons
