What is the fuel oil mixture ratio for the johnson 150 GT. I want to be prepared in case because I am not sure the VRO is working good on recently purchased boat. Dont have a manual yet....
Thank you.

50:1 The VROs have been disabled on the two motors I have that came with them. I guess they are pretty reliable, according to several of the people on this forum. I just use premix and am happy with that method.

Fuel / Oil chart

If you are going to eliminate the VRO setup it is fairly simple to do. First locate the oil line at the engine and cut it, plugging it with whatever suitable to prevent air from entering the system. Disconnect the wires for the VRO from the electrical plug on the motor. Find the 2 wires that run from the oil tank to the engine, disconnect them, then discard them along with the oil tank. Finally mix your fuel as per the chart above and unhooking the fuel line from the outboard, prime the fuel bulb until the freshly mixed concoction flows out, ensuring the motor is receiving the pre mixed fuel. Re connect the fuel line. You should probably test the overheat alarm at this time by having the ignition on and grounding out the tan wire at the cylinder head. If all is well, the alarm will sound.
