Getting back to Benelli's question. In your case weight management might be the most effective tool. You state you have your fuel tank and two batteries in the back. Why not move the batteries (100# or more) up front to distribute the weight. Moving the fuel tank is not as effective because the weight is not constant. I have found that if you do move the fuel tank, the center of the boat seems to be the most effective because it reduces the weight in the stern. In small boats I have often wired in several different locations for my batteries to allow for modification of weight distribution for different loads. Sometimes moving the operators seat (if possible) or adding an extention even of a couple of inches forward can change the ballance dramatically.
