I have a 1962 19 foot Wood Boat. It has an Outboard motor (75hp), but the wires from the Ignition to the Solenoid are so messed up I have no idea what the connections are. Is there a way I can hook a cable up from the engine to the battery under the back seat so I can jump it in the water so I can actually Drive the Boat in water? Or is there something else I can do.

Buy a manual.
It would be so much easier all around to fix it right than (rig) something like what your suggesting.

Besides, with a classic boat like that, I would think you would want to make it perfect original condition..

Post the make & model number of engine.
Someone here can certainly help you out with your wiring problem...

like bradster said, were going to need a make, model number, and a clear question not just; how do i start the engine with jumper cables so i can actually drive the boat. the first thing that pops into my head is why does he want to start the motor without using the key? does he plan on stealing it? i know thats probably not your intention! just be clear, nobody is going to help you jerry rig anything here. :)
