If you have to adjust the trim out to the next hole back (where they normally run), you will have no support for the cross pin. If you look at your first picture, you can see where the outer holes have been elongated from wear.
Obviously the seller needed to operate his boat in the middle hole, but it broke. then moved the rod to the inside position and found the boat was plowing through the water because of being trimmed to low. So HE had to replace his. Then he sold it to you. Do you want that same problem????
