Just brought a project

Just got myself a Picton Delta 16ft deep V speed boat and it needs a bit of cosmetic work as the paint has scratchs and small chips so it will need a repaint question is can i use a fiberglass primmer and then spray it in fiberglass automotive paint that i used to use on car body kits as the boat will be stored on a trailer?

Also i need to plug some holes in the transom ive hear the best way to do it is get some tight fitting dowl rod and put some sealer on it and tap it into the hole and then tap a brass or stainless pin nail into it to spread it making a water tight seal is this the best way?

For the paint I would ask the marine experts, as for the holes if they go through fibreglass only I would chop some fibreglass mat, mix it with some resin and plug the holes with that, then apply fibreglass mat on both sides
