I have been a member on this site for about 2 months. I have asked many questions and given my opinion on others. I have also read many, many posts. It amazes me that some people have to make smart ***** comments/remarks on some of the threads. If the question has been asked before or you can't leave a response without a smart comment, then don't respond to it.

I never read anywhere on this site that it was for experts only.

I know I quit smoking seven weeks ago and my wife says i'm a bear. She just asked me if I woke up in a bad mood today. I'm sure it will get better. Work with me on this one.:redface:

It takes many different and diverse types of personalities to make a site like this successful, I have been known to make a smart comment every once is a while and I have had my questions answered in the same manner at times, just go with the flow!

This is a bad time of year for most boaters, wig. I remember what it was like for the first few months after I stopped nicotine. Really made small stuff sweatable.

We do have rules against personal insults and bashing. If you run onto that please report the post and let we Mods deal with it. We try very hard to have a friendly forum.

another thing to consider.... you mentioned comments that something had been covered before.... Often that is pointed out to a new poster because knowing that can help him or her..... example, we get questions about fuel OFTEN such as what to do with bad fuel or whether or not ethanol is a problem or how to get bad fuel out of the tank. These topics almost ALWAYS are full of conflicting statements and the person asking the question can get all the answers dozens of times over with a quick search..... Often the thought is why make the guy wait for the thread to unfold when he can get his answer right now.

Often times a newcomer will assume that a reply is antagonistic when it is not.



All that said, DANGIT I hate the world I wanna get into a fight I can't stand this my boat is covered and I can't get on the water UGH!!!

Also I think a lot is taken out of context as it's typed and not spoken, what was meant as a cheeky bit of fun can come over as a personal slight. Which is why most forums have emoticons.

Congrat on deciding to stop smoking, I say stop because it sounds less final than quitting lol. I stopped about 11 years ago and haven't picked one up since. A good friend of mine had an app on her phone that would show how much she saved by not smoking. I guess you enter how many packs and how much a pack and it calculates it for you. In 3 years she's save something like $10,000 just think of the things you could do to your boat with that

As far as responses this site is actually really tame compared to some of the forums I am on and out of 100% of the posts I would say less than 1% could be considered rude. As with any gathering of people whether in person or in cyber space you will find all kinds of different personalities. As others have said let it roll off you like water.

We just got the boat back from the dealership yesterday and took it out for the first time this year...So far one for one on successful trips to the lake this year...

As far as the comments go, a lot of people want the leg work done for them, a lot of other people think their way is the only way...When you have been on a site for a while and tried to help people and get put down for it, you get a little jaded...Its the same everywhere and I doubt the vets do it on purpose...

BTW peoples internet muscles are a lot bigger then their real ones...
