A lot can depend on how they are prepared, if fixed just like a rabbit, they will taste similar to a rabit. I always seasoned and marinated my squirrels then wrapped in foil and cooked on the grill. Great eating ....!!

Same here. Very little actually tastes like chicken.

Iguana, snake, ostrich, gator, rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, all have their own taste
Yeah even the bloody chicken doesnt taste like chicken anymore , out of the above I have only eaten Rabbits and youd need to be hungry , pretty dry .
One of my older friends mucks about pre boiling , slow cookin slathered in pork fat and at the end it coulda been anything .
I had an old victorian cook book ( dunno where its at now ) and some of the 5hit they ate , like blackbirds , rats , hedgehogs
Heres a bit of Kiwi tucker . These boys are mutton birds , or Sooty shearwater chicks . They breed in burrows on our southern islands . They are about the fattest greasiest things on earth .... and then we salt them . I simmer them for a couple of hours , changing the water twice and then bung em under the grill skin side up untill it starts to crackle . Should only ever be eaten with waaaay to much beer , you will be on the hand cart if you cook them anywhere inside or outside where they can be smelt ( which is anywhere up to 100 yards upwind ). It will take 3 days to get the grease off your face..........but it tastes OK .IMG_20251208_172647.jpg
