I was at the Polish Fest that night and no, he didn't show up. We all heard the rumor and it's kind of the type of thing he would do. My guess is the traffic jam would have prevented him from getting out of Boyne Mountain anyway. The tent closed at 1am and there was still a jam up at the Mountain entrance at that time. He shows up at bars in Traverse City unannounced quite often. Yes, Matt (Unkle Kracker) has a house on Mullett and Kid Rock has a house on Torch. They're around lot in the summer. I ran into him way back when in what used to be Gordie Howes.
Oh, and as far as the Polish Festival circulating that rumor to get more people to show up... no way, no how. My mom, dad, and sister are on the committee and Saturday nights in the tent are crazy enough - no way do they want to start some crazy rumor that would bring out, as they put it, the weirdos. There are enough characters that show up there anyway. Better than Walmart for people watching. The committee members were terrified of the idea that he would show up. It could have caused for some tense moments in a crowd that size all stuffed into an enclosed beer tent.
I stand corrected i knew they had sold 8000 tickets but then opened up more so a said over 8000 didn't realize it was 11000 though wow
