Nope no 22 I have a 22 but it is in a closet. My options are 410, 20 gauge, 45 acp or buckshot and brass from the judge. I am going with the 20 gauge at close range. I am 60 now think nothing of the old man in his underpants and crocs wearing a head lamp out in his yard at 3 am blazing away.

I would have thought that the odd feral cat as a by-catch would only be icing on what was already a nice cake ,the only problem being getting rid of the carcass . I chuck them in the river ,I thought thats what the tails were for ....like a nice handle away from the messy end ( ha ha ....got caught once )
Raccoon ballistics test. Dog barking to alert me something is after her chickens. In my bare feet, flashlight in one hand, Beretta 96 40 cal in the other. Dog barking, chickens squawking and going all directions, raccoon running all over executing evasive maneuvers as I shoot for center of mass. Ammo Winchester Ranger T-series the successor to the infamous Black Talons with a more political correct name. Bullet passes through raccoon and then the 1/2" back wall of the coop and punches am almost perfect .4" circle in the plywood. Obviously never even started to expand after passing completely through the coon. After having seen many videos on this ammo my conclusion is that raccoons are much softer than ballistic gel.
Yeah , the head shot aint always as deadly as you'd think ....I have dropped cattle
with a single .22 to the head but I have also chased one across 2 farms after a 1oz 12 gauge slug right smack in the middle of the forehead didnt drop it .
Ferrel cats are not innocents. They kill significant numbers of song birds. Look it up. Would not necessarily be a bad thing to wipe a few out.
Oh I would have zero problem taking out feral cats, keeping peace in the neighborhood.
Yeah some peeps just wont see feral cats for what they are (usually wimmin ) , dunno bout the US but our feral cats are usually bigger ....like 20+ lbs and you only gotta look them in the eye to see they are a whole different animal than a pet cat .
.....hell I even shot one out from under our bed middle of the night ,stupid feckin thing ,I was trying to chase it out of the house and I lost it ...couldnt figure out where it went and next minute the handbrake is screamin "its under the bed its under the bed "....and it was
couple of taps with Gevarm and it obligingly crawled out before carkin it and it didnt leak a drop untill I had got it out the back door ......and it soaked up both rounds ....no holes in the skirting board....job done .......'cept now she's hollerin at me
