I like granite because each piece is unique. I didn't go out and pick my granite so when the installer came out and showed me the large island counter piece, I told him him I loved the big grain that went across it. Apparently some people don't like that aspect and for those people, get the engineered stuff that looks exactly like your neighbors down the street.

I agree Bruce. My dad and I installed many slabs of granite in our days, and even over the years each particular color changes. There are lot numbers and the same style of granite 10 years later looks so different that it is incredible!
