Re: knowledgeable prop guys

I have only seen Hi 5 props on bass boats which have a lot of "arse" to get up and on the water. I read that the more blades, the less efficiency for a given set of conditions so the prop should loose you some top end. But apparently those that use them aren't all that much concerned about the latter. Apparently you already bought it, so go try it and get your answer. I think I have seen some on ocean racers like the Cigarette and Scarrab boats. There, I think they are running cleaver props or something like it only partially in the water and the more blades, the more water they can contact. I don't know, just speculation.

As Mark says It seems they need a lot of hp to work best. Going same pitch to same pitch seems would surely lose some rpm
and very likely some speed. But would seem grip and control would be amazing.

got it used off a trade in at the dealer. came off the exact boat i have. going off the word of the previous owner,, he said boat came out of the water quicker , better handling, and gained some top end,, better all around prop,, so he said. price was right, i take what he said with a grain a salt, but he had been running it for 2 seasons and it was on the boat when he traded.???? dont know,, we will see.

I saw a Q6I with a V6 with the same prop. Don't know pitch but it seemed to work.
