sorry, mike, never been there, these fronts, and winds are going to play havoc also. i've been trying to test a boat for 3 days, and have had gale force wind gust. the river here is just to rough to get out. with a boat that's not tested.

Are you going to Lake Seminole in Pinellas Park? If so it's close to where I live. I've never fished there personally, I prefer saltwater; but I understand the fishing is pretty good there. It's a nice area, be sure to make it to the beach.

I know what the wind does. Every week the winds are at 5 and then comes Saturday and the 15 to 20. On Mobile Bay that makes it ruff for a 16 footer.

At Lake Seminole we will be by the Cypress Pond Landing. It is on the north shore by Seminole State Park. I hear the fishing is good. I like to fish both fresh and salt.

Thanks,

Mike

Ah, you're talking about THAT Lake Seminole, the one that is in North FL and in GA. That's a pretty big lake! Should be a great vacation. You mentioned Mobile Bay; I have several friends who live in Fairhope, Point Clear to be specific. That is a very beautiful area as well!

Yes, THAT Lake Seminole. That is kinda why I point to Tas.....dy. I am looking forward to the down time and fishing as the top priority.

I love this area. In the same outing I can catch, bass, catfish (river), sail cats, bream, red fish, specks, sheepshead, flounder, croaker, triple tail, possible shark and see porpoises. Plus some fish that I never heard of.

My best outing we caught, 1 sail cat, 1 founder, 1 speck, 2 reds, a couple 3 croaker, some fish that was unknown to us, and saw many porpoises. Lots o fun.

Silverhill is just few miles from Fairhope and Point Clear.

I will give an update here and in the freshwater fishing forum when I return.
