Just wondering if anyone has used the BU-353 Waterproof USB GPS Receiver in conjunction with Garmin mapsource or homeport for realtime navigation? Or what have you used software wise?

I have used the GlobalSat BU-353 GPS receiver with my laptop computer. I have used Polar View navigation software with the GlobalSat BU-353. I have used MacENC with the GlobalSat BU-353.

I use seaclear. It's on my little trihull. Here's a writeup I did on it a while back.

Did you want to respond to the original questions? Or did you just want to keep posting to this thread with your comments about what other people have contributed? I don't see that you have replied to any of the topics that were asked about. You just add noise to the information.

Only laptop software with GPS i have used was called NavTrak. The navy and commercial fishing fleets use it.
Might be a little overkill for a pleasure boater, but then again..i have no idea how expensive it is.
it did everything, from charting, tide and currents...very robust
