laser 2 ?

I have a new to me 88 Crestline Nordic 18.5ft aluminum fish and ski boat with an 84 mercury 115 hp inline 6. Right now the motor has an unknown 13 * 19p prop. I think its off a yamaha not sure. The motor reaches about 5600 rpms at WOT. I picked up a Laser 2 20 pitch model 48-16990a40 20p. i was told it came off a 115 merc so it should fit on my motor but when I go to put it on it hits the triangle piece that comes down from the cavitation plate area. sorry i do not know the name for that piece. I think it helps with reducing prop steer? Am I missing something? I am pretty sure that prop should fit my motor. Any other advise on that setup. I am pretty sure the motor will need to be raised up. right now it is on the very top mounting holes and I don't think I want to go any lower than 54-5500 RPMs on an old 6 cyl merc?

Anybody have any advice? Am I in the proper RPM range with the old inline 6 115 merc? Do different 115 mercs take different props? Can I just remove the little triangle piece that is hanging down from the cavitation plate in back?

You can either cut down the trim tab some, or you can get an offset trim tab that places it farther away from the prop so it will fit.
