Could someone please post a pic of their shifting linkage- in particular the bias of the adjustment screw on the leg. I want to make sure mine is right because I did a waterpump job last year but never re-adjusted it after I had to seperate them. I read the Clymer manual, but it only tells how to adjust for the neutral safety switch.

If you read carefully from pages 473 and 474, after the true neutral is found in steps 2-7, the jam nut and coupler are adjusted so that the interlock is depressed when the shift rod is in true neutral.

Sorry, can't give you a photo, but don't know what good it would do anyway.

If for some reason you don't have a neutral interlock, then you just adjust so that the rod is halfway between F and R when in neutral.

So basically it's either in forward, neutral, or reverse. There really isn't any in between. Thanks.
