How do you launch those small sail boats I see going down the road? The sail boats with a 3 or 4 foot fixed keel standing high on the trailer.

With a really long ***** telescopic tongue extension or a crane. I hate launching fixed keel boats.

That last boat I saw would've had to have a 15' foot tube (just guessing), I'm going to have to hang around the yatch club and watch em'. I don't think I'm allowed in, I'll have to watch from the water!!!

not quite sure about the total technique but I've watched several fixed high keel owners tie a stout line to the trailer, totally unhook it, than send it down the ramp untill the boat has enough water to float off. Than, they haul the trailer back in. Similar process when they load up. It really is pretty cool to watch.

That would be awesome to watch, I really need to hang around the yacht club more.

When I was in Hawaii I saw that done with most everything being launched (boats under 19-20ft) I guess the ramps arent steep enough...
