Betcha a dollar to a donut the problem lies in the fuel/fuel delivery.

Borrowed BIL's pressurewasher last year. 5hp b 'n s engine. Did the same as you described, crank and run for a couple of minutes, then rpm's would decrease and die. It would crank right back up on second or third pull, and repeat. Did that dance for nearly an hour. Finally just added fresh gas and it ran like a top for the next 3 days.....:facepalm:

Check the fuel line from tank to carb, could restricted or collapsing.

Wow....sounds like you have been chasing this for awhile.

Check the crank case vent for a build up of carbon. (PVC valve} That is the square cover on the block, with a vent hose that connects to the carb. I had one carbon up, and didn't find it until I finally decided to totally overhaul it.
Bet your grass is getting high by this time....
