Laying FG Cloth - how to handle floor-hull joint?

I'm about to lay 10 oz. cloth on my floor with epoxy resin. I've looked at the sea ray 220 videos and other books and videos but I'm not sure how wide to cut the cloth.

Should it just cover the floor, then later tie it into the hull with cloth? Is there any reason that I should not cut the floor cloth wide enough to run up the hull about 3 inches, then tab it with the piece running up the hull 6 inches? I have 3 inch tape but I don't think that will go up far enough.

Is more than one layer of cloth on the floor needed with the epoxy - cloth combo?

Thanks.

Cut to run it up the hull 6" if that's what you want for a floor to hull tie in. Don't need to add an extra tie in piece.
