LCR100 Depth Finder Problem

I inherited an LCR100 depth finder mounted in the dash of a 1991 pontoon boat. It will register when in shallow water (down to 60 feet). When the depth goes deeper than that, the screen goes blank and will not register again until I return to 15 to 30 feet of water. What could be the problem? Thanks Don

Have you checked the transducer to make sure it is clean and properly aimed? If the boat was stored in water, could have an algae buildup.
