My new to me boat sounds loud to me when compared with same boats. 04 Caravelle with a 4,3 gxi. I have been having problems over reving. If I have a bad bellow would this account for the increased noise level and would it cause the prop to slip. Im thinking this as the water in front of the prop would be aerated. Prop slippage calculator shows I have 31 percent slippage. Thanks for any help

It would have to be really bad or even missing. Have you looked at it?

That could explain why no matter what prop you use the engine over-revs, but your MPH would definitely be low, and not climb much once you get past 4500 rpm I would guess.

I haven't looked at it but will have a look when I get back out to the lake. The boat sounds like it has thru hull exhaust compared to other one of the same model.I was looking at some video of mine and at 4200 I was only doing 35 mph. Checked and im getting about 30percent prop slip.

About the only way you'd have trouble is if the exhaust was entering direct into the prop.
IF the props not fitting right?? Pic? Maybe the exhaust is getting into the stream??
Pics.
The exhaust bellows can come loose and block the exhaust?
Look up inside as the drive's tilted?

If your getting 4200, your close.
You change props?
Too much stuff/ load/ people can cause the rpm's to drop.

Pics would really help.
