Leak in the live well system??????

I recently acquired a 91 Smoker Craft Stilleto. It has a live well, and when activated, works great! But it is leaking somewhere. As the day goes along, water comes up through the carpet around the base of the tank. The guy I bought it from said it's not the tank ( because it doesn't leak if you just fill it and let it sit, but leaks only when you run the pump all day)

So, my question is where do I start troubleshooting this one?

My plan, fill the tank with a hose while on a trailer to make sure the tank is not leaking...if it is not, how do I get to the hoses underneath the floor to see what could be leaking...any other suggestions???

Thanks a boat load!

If it's not the tank, it could be the livewell pump itself. It happened to our boat. Pump was cracked.

My first boat bought new was a 1978 sea nymph that leaked the first time out. It was simply a radiator type clamp that was not tight. Also check the hoses as with age they can crack. Also the fittings that go thru the livewell to the hoses could be loose. They are usually just a plactic nut on the back with a gasket in some cases.

Yes, those are good suggestions. I am trying to get behind what looks like an access panel for the hoses next to the tank. But I can't get to them because I can't get the panel off...it has some kind of screws or rivet things...they look like a screw, but have a circular hole in the middle...I don't know how to open these? Probably something obvious...anyone know what these are?

Could be a standard rivet. Simply drill out thru the middle with an appropriate size drill bit(about the size of the hole) then to put back simply reuse rivets of the same size. Rivet guns are not too expensive and usually come with standard size rivets(1/8, 1/16 etc) so unless need more than it comes with should not be a problem.
The only other thing I can think of would be somekind of torx or hex screws but they should not look too deep like a rivet hole would.
