i have an 89 60hp johnson outboard on a fisher boat. it has started leaking gas from the lower carb when the motor has been tilted for some time. today put a new float and needle and seat. it's coming from the the shaft that runs up and down, not the butterfly shaft, any ideas?

When you say shafts that runs up and down are you referring to the linkage on the side of the carbs?

Or are you looking into the throat of the carb and seeing something that looks like a shafts that protrudes partway in to the throat?

Maybe try to post a pic. That could be most helpful. Also , how far does your motor tilt. Some go almost horizontal in extreme cases with boats that have odd transom angles and whatnot.
