Ahhh! That is one of the very few manual release valves I have seen. MOST pumps did not have them. Yes, replacing the O rings is basically all there is to it, Yes, the valve spins freely and there is no stop. You turn the slot to the words cast into the pump: release or tilt (or whatever). The valve itself is held into the pump body with an internal stainless circlip. Buy the correct size at Lowes, Home depot, Sears, Fastenal, or your local hardware store if it has them.

Replacing the orings should fix any external drips. If you have bleed down, then that is a separate issue.

Yours appears to be a tilt only system. It probably has a 1/2" main bore with stamped and formed check valves. Measure check valve outer diameter with caliper. If it is 1/2" then VB is not rebuildable. If it is 9/16" then valve body is rebuildable.

The good news is that the $70 chinese valve body should work just fine for tilt only. Your engine should be braced or blocked at all times during stowing or towing so all you really need is a few minutes of lift to get on and off trailer. The tilt only will collapse under throttle and your pump will never need to sustain pressure against a big HP. Chinese product should accomplish that just fine.

your VB is not rebuildable.
You can hunt around for a used oem and hope for the best.
If it was me, i would buy chinese. Since your system is tilt only then you don't really need the extra quality or durability of OEM.
try hunting on ebay. they are all same regardless of advertising claims and prices. If you pay $150 then all you get for the extra $70 is ... nothing.

Re: leaking power tilt pump release valve

had trouble finding a pump from ebay there all 4 line pumps... went ahead and changed o-ring from release valve (2 of them) and blew out with air and valve inside came out... notice small egeds of o-ring had chips in it and went ahead and changed them (2 of them ) but were slightly smaller o-ring- luckly o-ring kit i got had extra small ones.. put together and tested ... wow what a diference piston was more responsive and bleed down... UNTIL i changed to down and noticed line was leaking on port of pump and notice thread wasnt in good condition.... what do you guys think about me using heli-coils... will that work ... also release valve was okay needed new clip ,, old one wouldnt stay and would blow out.....

the four port works fine. just plug unused ports with NAPA 3/16" brake fittings.

i am impressed, heli-coil rarely works on hydraulic fittings. you should use either 30w non detergent motor oil or hydraulic oil.
