Hello everyone, Im new to boating and I have some concerns with the sterndrive. I have a 1978 boat with a Mercruiser 165 and i believe a pre-alpha sterndrive. While flushing the engine after running the boat I noticed water leaking on the front of the sterndrive(part towards the transom) I noticed water coming out of an upside down looking "L" pin. I think ive heard called the shift shaft. Is this normal? I have ran the engine 7 times with about 18 hours total use but never checked that area before to know if that is the first time its done that. Thanks in advance for any knowledge anyone may have.
