LED's work in some outlets, but not all.

Out of the 16 fixtures in my boat, only 2 were wired correctly for LED,... so thats 14 fixtures I have to remove/reverse....10 down and 4 more to go.

It's far more likely the Chinese made LEDs were assembled without regard for polarity. But still much easier to swap wires than go through 100 LEDs finding units that work properly. Fortunately, LEDs have a pretty long life so it'll hopefully be a while before you have to perform this routine again.

On a side note, LEDs are known to cause issues with other electronic items nearby. For example - LEDs can cause havoc with the TPMS sensors on cars; so if you suddenly start experiencing problems with your television or remote controls, look into LED interference.

Unless the LED is being driven by some sort of driver, there will be zero interference from the bulb. These 1156 bulbs have no drivers.

I have bought a ton of these 1156 bulbs to replace incandescent bulbs in a camper. Never found one that connected wrong internally.

If this were the case then bulbs would randomly work/not work in various different outlets,... im not finding this to be true,... once the fixture is wired correctly, ALL the bulbs work in that fixture.

Yea, I would suspect the wiring as well. Some folks wire things correctly and others however they like. And with incandescent bulbs, you can easily get away with that. But once polarity comes into the picture, incorrect wiring shows up. Once you finish rewiring the trailer correctly, you will know anything will work then. :thumb:

12v DC LED's are the absolute cleanest light you will get, even better than a regular old filament bulb. (those do some interesting things on startup, they look like a dead short for a moment) I've never heard of TPMS sensors and LED's getting along, and not a single google search reference to show that. Lots of complaints about HID's, but that is to be expected. Cheap hids are extremely noisy, and will often generate audible noise.

The only thing to be concerned about in a vehicle is retrofitting into something where the computer directly controls the lighting. The ECU expects a certain amount of current, and changing to a LED can end up causing the ECU to sink that current and eventually die.

You're right of course. I was remembering HIDs but thinking LEDs instead.
Just remember, I'm the one that said polarity in the first place, so you can all quit picking on me now...
