Careful, Mellowyellow. You don't want "Just some kind of consumption tax". Be a little more selective. The last thing we need is a Value Added Sales tax. If we were to go to consumption tax this is the one that the politicians would jump on.<br /><br />You think they can tinker with our current income tax system, just watch what they could do with this hidden sales tax that is added on at each step of production. You'd never know how much tax you are paying.
