I know of no conservatives that believe there should be no financial assistance for those in need. Other than staunch Libertarians, could you name any?<br /><br />Just for fun, I will clarify and qualify my God statement. I am not particularly religious, I believe that this entire universe (along with Evolution) was created, and that the basic "rules" of main stream religions are particularly good things for us to follow. That's about the extent of my faith, and I mention it, because I don't want anyone to dismiss my comment as the ramblings of the "Christian Right". It is interesting, and rather telling, that simply implying that conservatives are blindly following God insures derision from many liberals . . .
