Re: Like A Fat Kid In A Candy Store

Here's my dad on his little cobbled up bike. He found a 250 dirt bike frame in an empty lot and took it home when the numbers came back clear. It sat in the rafters for a decade or so, then he chopped it all up and put the peanut tank on it. Rear wheel/sprocket from a JD lawn tractor, front wheel from a wheelbarrow, back brake is a piece of steel that hinges down pushing on the tire treads. :D
Now it's got hand painted flames on the tank and a new 6.75HP Harbor Freight special, moves pretty quick, but nothing compared to his '01 Softtail.

Now you just need a name ???

"The 5 horse gang"
" The home in time for suppers"
" Aces and 8 horses"

Maybe a play on the original Hells Angels name (the Pi$$ed off Bast@&ds),
Perhaps " The sawed off Bast@&ds"?

:D

That is a nice one! Strip it, paint it, put on a 5 hp with a Torq-a-verter trans (instead of centrifugal clutch) and hang on!

Thinking more like a 20 hp engine, comet clutch and a belt. Life would be good.

I don't have pics of mine, but it started looking like that. Now it's a chopper with a 3ft fork, ape hangers, banana seat and sissy bar. Moved up from the 2hp briggs to a 5hp with a 3" straight pipe, and with your weight right over the rear wheel, it'll pull into a wheelie while shooting a blue jet flame out of the exhaust.

Just don't expect to be able to steer when you set the front wheel back down. Ask me how I know.... ;)

Sadly Comet brand clutches are starting to dry up, ever since their parent company Tecumseh folded...

Plenty of Chinese alternatives of course...

Whatever you do, take lots of pics and post all progress on the rebuild . . . Gee, where have I heard that before?
