Me, I'd just say screw it, even if it was a $3 decal.

While I understand the desire to do great cosmetic restorations, I'm in your camp. My motto is "Paint it brown and go to town." Or something like that.

When I got my 6hp Johnson shipped to me from my dad's place in California, it arrived with the box stove in and the cowling cracked, with a hole in it. The pieces were all there, so I just super-glued the piece from the hole and put a fiberglass patch on the inside.

Runs great. Who cares if the cowling's cracked?

Some folks, though, insist on perfection, and more power to them.

Today I tried FAST SIGNS, TIGER TOWN GRAPHICS, BROOME CUSTOM SIGNS & DOWN UNDER SIGNS ANRE GRAPHICS.

all said they can't COPY a copywrite logolike mercruiser...

so after getting told that several times I finally went to office max...they attempted it and were nice but copying a dity old decal ofcourse turned out crappy bc the white isn't white etc..

so what I'm gonna do is find a pic of the decal on the net blow it up and size it correctly with my software and buy a better printer and sticker paper and do it myself..

thats the only way to get it right....sheesh! ok I've vented once again..
