1988 25 horsepower johnson Background the motor was running pretty good but not running as fast as it should someone said do a link and sync so i got a manual and made sure that i had the little roller touching the cam and in line with the marks and that the carb was just starting to open then it said to advance the plate all the way over to the stop then it said to loosen set screw on throttle control arm and push arm all the way forward then set the screw back against the collar so i did all of that. Is that considered a link and sync. I took the boat out and it ran really rough it would start to go rev up then die pull it again start right up start to go rev up then die some one please give me some ideas thanks alot CD
