Little electrical help please?

I know what I did now, but don't know how to fix it.
Installed a 1987 Merc 35 hp 2 cylinder 2 stroke (remote controls with T&T) on my old fishing boat yesterday. Got everything adjusted correctly, checked it all and all was working perfectly, but when I put all the boat pieces back together, I somehow managed to run a stainless screw right into the wiring harness. From the diagrams I have seen, the yellow/black wire is the choke wire, and that is the one the screw penetrated. The tab that the screw threads into is riveted to the aluminum boat.
I now have no power to anything in the motor - no choke no starter no power trim. I am very green with outboard motors, so wondering where I should check for a fuse or breaker or what do I check that may have been tripped when I shorted the wire. Thanks for any help,
Mojo

Not sure why nobody came back to you, I don't know anything about your controls but think that you should be able to start at one end or the other and use a tester to see where you have juice or continuity and keep following it. If nothing else this might put it back in front of the pros.

I assume that you removed the screw. Then I would look at the wires where the screw went in and see if they were broken. Then try to splice them back together if broken. Yes there should be fuses under the dash somewhere. Get a voltage tester and check for power. Check all the fuses to see if any are blown. Check and see if you have power to the controls. If you have power to the controls then check to see if you have power to the trim motor. If you have power to the control and not to the motor then the wires have been broken. If no power to the controls then probably have a blown fuse somewhere. Trace the wires back to find where they are powered from.
Hope this helps.. And welcome to iboats...

Check the main fuse on engine on starboard side near the starter.
