my 89' johnson 40 vro has a little red cap with an arrow on it that looks like an air valve. I was just wondering if anyone knows what that is.
thank you

Re: little red cap?

i had a picture, but it has disappeared. sounds like the manual/automatic lever on the fuel primer. turned inline with the body it is automatic. cross wise it is manual. the primer replaced to choke plate in the carb. it has a solenoid that when activated lets fuel directly in to the intake, a better system when starting the engine cold. activated by pushing in the key.

This is my 92 90 VRO....Is it the red cap on the right front?...as it sits on mine the arrow is pointing parallel to the stern of the boat.
